Mobility decreases with age. It is a fact. This is one of the most challenging problems that the elderly encounter. The trouble does not stop with this. Inability to move around freely can not only make day-to-day activities hard but can cause loss of independence and eventually, depression. After having spent years doing everything on their own, this takes a toll.
The good news is that most of the mobility problems that come with age are treatable. With the right care and support, a senior can continue with their normal routines as much as possible.
It is not just about the ability to complete everyday tasks by ourselves, such as bathing, dressing, eating, even moving around, is something we take for granted when we are healthy. For seniors, however, these functions can become difficult to complete alone, as the effects of aging include mobility issues take effect. This can have an impact on a loved one’s sense of independence and dignity.
