Family to me in Bengaluru

Our family has been with Prayojana since November 2023.
At the time, my mother was already a dialysis patient. When she suffered a fall and a fracture, I flew to India, overwhelmed with how to support my elderly parents through this new challenge. While she was undergoing surgery in the hospital, I remembered that a friend had mentioned Prayojana a couple of years earlier. In the middle of the night, I filled out their online form—and early the next morning, Kavitha called me.

Even before I had completed the financial formalities, the team began providing us with much-needed support and vital information. Roopa came to visit us exactly at 2:00 PM, right on schedule. I still remember the moment clearly—I was about to text her to check if she needed directions when the doorbell rang. That visit marked the beginning of our journey with Prayojana. In Bengali, there’s a saying: Haate Chaand Pelam—“I felt as though I had the moon in my hands.”

Beyond being efficient, the Prayojana team is deeply dedicated to the well-being of the elderly in their care. One late night, when my mother had breathing difficulties, Kavitha went to great lengths to arrange an oxygen concentrator. She didn’t retire for the night until after 1:30 AM, once she had successfully arranged for it to be delivered to our home.

In October, my mother was hospitalized again—this time on her birthday. The team stepped in immediately, managing her admission, coordinating doctor consultations, and ensuring her care despite floods and heavy traffic. Sriram personally reached the hospital to liaise between me and the doctors about ventilation while I arranged to fly to Bengaluru. Sadly, God had other plans. In the days that followed, Sriram and the team handled everything, from fulfilling her wish to donate her corneas to the cremation arrangements. They stood beside us, not just as service providers, but as people who genuinely grieved with us.

There are countless moments when the Prayojana team has given me the peace of mind to confidently entrust them with responsibilities in my absence. One instance I will never forget was during the 2023 event, on the day I was due to return from Bengaluru. My mother fell ill again, and I wondered aloud whether I should postpone my trip. Roopa simply said, “You carry on, we are here.” I cannot express what those words meant to me.
Additionally, the team has also managed various banking tasks, bill payments, and even complex hospital reimbursements on our behalf.

In recent months, Subha has been diligently overseeing my father’s care, supported by the rest of the team - besides the names already mentioned - Madhu, Gayatri and Prasannaji.

In a nutshell, Prayojana has been more than just a support service—they have been like family to me in Bengaluru. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking care for their elderly loved ones, for true peace of mind and a team that represents you when you cannot be physically present.

Prayojana has indeed been of the utmost prayojana to me, my parents, and their caregivers. God bless the entire Prayojana team!

Service is highly appreciated

I am very grateful to Sriram and Kavitha for all the help they are extending in Bangalore. Few weeks ago, Sriram went above and beyond to get vaccination done for my parents. Now he is also helping my sibling. They are not commercially minded and fully focused on helping as much as they can. Highly appreciate their service in Bangalore.

Great experience with Prayojana!

My siblings and I reside in the US, while our elderly parents live in Chennai, India. In March, 2020, spurred on by the worldwide coronavirus situation, we decided to engage with Prayojana to take care of our parent’s increasing needs. We couldn't be happier with their services.
Prayojana's approach has been unique. They first spent considerable time getting to know the family and understanding our goals. They, then, began providing services tuned to our specific situation and needs. They listened a lot. They were very open to new challenges and ideas. They were especially helpful during these Covid 19 times, and came through as excellent problem solvers when we were faced with some unique challenges. For instance, when the lockdowns began, and travel became highly restricted, they successfully planned and executed the logistics of regular food delivery to our parents.
Venkat (our contact) and the others at Prayojana have been extremely pleasant to deal with. We never feel like we are dealing with a business, but, instead, with a group of friends aligned with our goals for the care of our parents. They visit our parents regularly to check on them, share our photos, blogs, and other communications when needed, and update us on the situation promptly. The interactions are always casual and non-intrusive. Over time, our parents have become very comfortable with their presence and their offer of help. This engagement has provided us tremendous peace of mind.

Selfless yeomen unparalleled service with a smile

Our family was introduced to the concept of Prayojana (what an appropriate Indic name it is) by our good friend Vidhya Venkat here in Singapore, when we were clueless how we were going to manage the affairs of our frail parents in West Mambalam after they went back from Singapore post a series of health scares for my father. Honestly, we didn’t know what to expect but every interaction increased our trust in the good samaritans that have taken up this cause and they made our parents feel comfortable. After Mr. Prasad was assigned as our ‘care buddy’ he moved up the ladder from being a Prayojana care buddy to my proxy and literally a son to my parents. Such was the camaraderie, good nature, positive vibes that he brought to the table as well as his vast medical knowledge and contacts (having dealt with hospitals and doctors before), that he endeared himself to our family. We were literally talking to him daily on matters big and small. Amma trusted him to be on top of the dialysis sessions Appa had to go through as well as paying bills, withdrawing money from the ATM. At one point, our doctors knew Prasad better than they even knew me. The regular what’s app updates capturing all the details was so useful as well as the regular phone calls from Alamu and Anupama. Kudos to this team of individuals who came up with this concept and executing it. May Ishwara shower his infinite grace on this team to continue their great work.

Personalized Interactions

My mother enrolled with Prayojana based on very positive feedback we had from their services in Chennai in Feb 2021. She has the distinction of being the first person from Bengaluru to be enrolled.

The help received by her is at several fronts including providing help and solutions for day-to-day issues such as plumbing, electrical, banking etc to providing a highly personal and emotional support on other general issues as well. I had the good fortune of participating in a lunch organized for a lot of members from Bengaluru along with my mother which gave a very good platform for the elders to socially interact particularly after COVID when everyone were locked indoors for several months. The highly personalized interactions that my mother is able to have with Prayojana team members gives her as well as me the confidence that though we are unfortunately not physically around to take care, there is someone who is able to fill in that gap quite well.
