Our family has been with Prayojana since November 2023.
At the time, my mother was already a dialysis patient. When she suffered a fall and a fracture, I flew to India, overwhelmed with how to support my elderly parents through this new challenge. While she was undergoing surgery in the hospital, I remembered that a friend had mentioned Prayojana a couple of years earlier. In the middle of the night, I filled out their online form—and early the next morning, Kavitha called me.
Even before I had completed the financial formalities, the team began providing us with much-needed support and vital information. Roopa came to visit us exactly at 2:00 PM, right on schedule. I still remember the moment clearly—I was about to text her to check if she needed directions when the doorbell rang. That visit marked the beginning of our journey with Prayojana. In Bengali, there’s a saying: Haate Chaand Pelam—“I felt as though I had the moon in my hands.”
Beyond being efficient, the Prayojana team is deeply dedicated to the well-being of the elderly in their care. One late night, when my mother had breathing difficulties, Kavitha went to great lengths to arrange an oxygen concentrator. She didn’t retire for the night until after 1:30 AM, once she had successfully arranged for it to be delivered to our home.
In October, my mother was hospitalized again—this time on her birthday. The team stepped in immediately, managing her admission, coordinating doctor consultations, and ensuring her care despite floods and heavy traffic. Sriram personally reached the hospital to liaise between me and the doctors about ventilation while I arranged to fly to Bengaluru. Sadly, God had other plans. In the days that followed, Sriram and the team handled everything, from fulfilling her wish to donate her corneas to the cremation arrangements. They stood beside us, not just as service providers, but as people who genuinely grieved with us.
There are countless moments when the Prayojana team has given me the peace of mind to confidently entrust them with responsibilities in my absence. One instance I will never forget was during the 2023 event, on the day I was due to return from Bengaluru. My mother fell ill again, and I wondered aloud whether I should postpone my trip. Roopa simply said, “You carry on, we are here.” I cannot express what those words meant to me.
Additionally, the team has also managed various banking tasks, bill payments, and even complex hospital reimbursements on our behalf.
In recent months, Subha has been diligently overseeing my father’s care, supported by the rest of the team - besides the names already mentioned - Madhu, Gayatri and Prasannaji.
In a nutshell, Prayojana has been more than just a support service—they have been like family to me in Bengaluru. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking care for their elderly loved ones, for true peace of mind and a team that represents you when you cannot be physically present.
Prayojana has indeed been of the utmost prayojana to me, my parents, and their caregivers. God bless the entire Prayojana team!
